The Story
The canaries are taking back the mines! For nearly 100 years, canaries were used by miners to detect carbon monoxide underground. Finally relieved of their duties, the canaries have decided to claim the mines as their own. Full of gemstones and other resources, these mines offer the canaries a perfect opportunity to build the best nest for their canary families. Your task is to help them do this! Explore the mines to collect gemstones and nest supplies, and be the first to finish your nest!
Gameplay
Caverns and Canaries is a game for 2-4 players where players race to build a nest made of leaves, twigs, and feathers. To do so, they take turns moving around the landscape, collecting mines full of different types of gemstones. With each roll of the dice, players receive gemstones from their corresponding mines, and use these gemstones to purchase Nest Supply Cards to complete their nests. If players do not have the correct types of gemstones to buy these nest supplies, they can visit the Gem Exchange Nest to exchange their gemstones for those of another type. The first player to collect three of each type of supply card (leaves, twigs, and feathers), is the winner of the quest for the best nest!
